State’s traditional industries be it handicraft, tourism and horticulture industries has world-wide demand,, said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's political adviser Professor Amitabh Mattoo today said. Speaking during a concluding session of Bureau of Research on Industry and Economic Fundamentals (BRIEF) conclave here at SKICC Srinagar, Professor Mattoo said Kashmir has resources which can be utilized to develop trade relations between the neighboring countries. Professor Mattoo said it is important to channelize the energies of State youth in a proper manner by giving them a platform where they could exhibit their talent. He said the State youth need to be equipped with advanced knowledge which turn will help in building a positive image of the society. Prof. Mattoo welcomed initiatives like organizing the BRIEF function and said the present government is very keen to make the future of the youth prosperous. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of State for Education, Technical Education, Culture, Tourism, Horticulture, Floriculture Priya Sethi who was also present in the function said that every possible effort should be made for the betterment of the State youth. "Our youth should be motivated for coming forward in establishing the big business houses and our own brands should be exported from here," she said. “We should encourage and facilitate the youth who come up with different innovations that is how we can make society a prosperous and can compete with the global level.” The Minister added that Prime Minister Modi is leaving no stone unturned to provide enormous funds for carrying forward various welfare schemes.
